SPOTLIGHT: Rep. Mike Bishop (R-MI)

Elected to Congress to represent the Detroit suburbs in 2014, Bishop serves on the powerful Ways and Means Committee. His past background as a state senator, house member, and chief legal officer and executive for the International Bancard Corporation has given him the knowledge to be a critical leader in issues important to banking, including recent tax reform.

"Mike Bishop consistently leads on the many issues Michigan banks face. His brand of leadership and open communication with our industry is refreshing," said Rand Paynter, President and CEO of the Michigan Bankers Association.

"As more opportunities arise to repair the damages of the Dodd-Frank Act, I know that Congressman Bishop will be there for us and will make the most of each chance. We need his continued leadership in Congress," he said.
