Eric Hovde is an entrepreneur and a banker, who is running for office as a first-term US Senator from Wisconsin. As a classic entrepreneur, he founded and managed his first business in his twenties and went on to start and build many others.

He is Chairman and CEO of Sunwest Bank, headquartered in Utah. He is also CEO and co-owner of Hovde Properties, LLC, a third-generation family company that develops and manages real estate in the Madison, WI, area. Eric is also a senior executive or board member for several other businesses operating in the financial services sector.

As a high profile statewide race in one of this year's swing states, Eric will need help from fellow bankers around the country. Although he started well behind the incumbent, Eric continues to gain ground in what will surely be a close race! See latest polls HERE.

A freshman representative who is an ally for free markets, banking, and American enterprise on the House Financial Services, Zach Nunn is a huge community banking advocate who needs our help.

This is also one of the tightest races in the country. The LATEST POLLS show Zach in a dead heat in a race that was decided by only .03% in 2022. Zach can win this, but to do so he needs the help of Friends of Traditional Banking.

"Zach is incredibly deserving of this endorsement from FOTB. He has an appreciation for the value of traditional banks to our communities. This shows up in the policies he supports, such as co-sponsorship of the ACRE Act and voting to overturn the CFPB’s rule requiring small business data collection. Zach serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the Agriculture Committee. Both committees determine policy critical to the future of community banks. I urge bankers from across the country to support Zach Nunn in his challenging re-election fight."

Representative David Schweikert has been a friend to the banking industry since being elected to Congress in 2010. He was placed on the House Financial Services Committee as a freshman, which is exceedingly rare. He has since moved to the House Ways & Means Committee, arguably one of the most powerful committees in the entire Congress, where he chairs the all-important Subcommittee on Oversight. 

However, he may be in the toughest race of his congressional career. His opponent is a very smart and very good campaigner, and the new configuration of the district makes it much more competitive. In the LATEST POLLS the race is even and certainly within the margin or error.

"Throughout his accomplished tenure, he has always given representatives of this industry unfettered access and opportunities to make our case. He approaches national policy questions with an open mind and high degree of intellectual curiosity. His philosophical bent is for economic growth facilitated by open markets, minimal regulation, and fair competition. Having Schweikert in Congress is good for the banking industry in this country, which in turn is good for Arizona and America.”
