What is the mission of Friends of Traditional Banking?

We are a non-partisan grassroots effort, organized by bankers. We are Main Street, not Wall Street; we are traditional community bankers, not investment bankers.

We choose two Congressional races each cycle where we can make a difference, and encourage our membership to donate directly to those campaigns.

We're the inverse of a PAC--instead of spreading a little bit of money to a lot of campaigns, we focus a lot of money on a couple of key campaigns.

And we need YOUR help to identify candidates around the country that we should consider.
Do you know of candidates
we should support?

Election years are always the most exciting at FOTB, as we look for key races to support. We are nonpartisan and are looking for candidates for the U.S. Senate or U.S. House of Representatives from any party who:

1- Would be champions for traditional banking or whose opponent is especially hostile to traditional banking; and

2- Are in a tight race that could go either way (we like to weigh in where we can make a difference and tip the scales).

If you know of candidates in your state that we should be considering, please reply to this email and let us know!

Meanwhile . . .

  • See our past FOTB endorsements and a decade of impact HERE.

  • Business Insider summarizes the nine key Senate races to watch this cycle. Spoiler alert: the swing seats are in Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

  • CNN provides a handy roadmap, outlining when each state is having its primary elections and some of the key races in each.
Timely Hits on Banking & Politics

  • A big push is underway to have Congress finally pass the SAFE Banking Act, which would enable legally operating cannabis firms to use banking services and credit cards.

SPONSOR'S CORNER
Gone Phishing
A message from our sponsor BankOnITUSA:

As spring approaches and the weather improves, many of us might take advantage by taking time off and trying to catch some rest and relaxation. Meanwhile, cybercriminals are doing what they do year-round: Trying to catch us off guard and steal vital information. These attacks, particularly phishing scams, are increasing in frequency and sophistication, making it hard for us in the banking industry to get much-needed R&R. Read the full article HERE.
